A Genuine JCB Class of Its Own — Neither Road Tipper Nor Mining Haul Truck
JCB's site dumper range — from the 1-tonne class up to the 9-tonne 9TFT and 9TST models — is a real, distinct machine category: smaller and more manoeuvrable than a mining articulated dump truck, but purpose-built for construction site material movement rather than road use. This includes JCB's newer electric dumpers (the 3TE) alongside the established diesel range. If you have a road-going PTO tipper truck instead, see our general Tipper/Dumper page.
Site dumpers occupy a specific niche — too small and too focused on tight-site manoeuvrability to be an off-highway mining haul truck, but not road-legal like a PTO tipper truck. JCB's range spans forward-tip and swivel-tip configurations (denoted FT and ST in model codes), with hydraulics controlling the skip/body tip function and, on swivel models, the rotation mechanism that lets the operator dump to the side without turning the whole machine.
| Model | Capacity | Tip Type |
|---|---|---|
| 6TFT | 6-tonne class | Forward tip |
| 6TST | 6-tonne class | Swivel tip |
| 9TFT | 9-tonne class | Forward tip |
| 9TST | 9-tonne class | Swivel tip |
| 3TE (electric) | 3-tonne class | Zero-emission, same hydraulic power as diesel equivalent |

Replaced as standard on every unit.
Actual output measured and documented on the written test report.
We confirm you need the site dumper pump, not a road tipper or mining ADT pump, before quoting.
