Our Single Most Requested Eaton Pump — Genuinely Cross-Category
The 4623 is genuinely the most widely deployed pump in Eaton's mobile gear pump range — fitted across tractors (Mahindra, New Holland, TAFE, John Deere-compatible), forklifts (Toyota, TCM, Komatsu), and tipper trucks (6-tyre bodies, 8-12 cubic metre capacity). Very few single pump models span this many vehicle categories, which is exactly why it's our most commonly stocked Eaton part.
A single gear pump model genuinely serving tractors, forklifts, and tipper trucks is unusual — most hydraulic pumps are matched narrowly to one equipment category. The 4623's broad compatibility comes down to its moderate, versatile displacement and pressure rating, which happens to suit the 3-point linkage lift on a mid-size tractor, the mast lift on a 2-3.5 tonne forklift, and the dump-body hoist on a 6-tyre tipper — three genuinely different jobs with, coincidentally, similar hydraulic demand.

With clean hydraulic fluid and regular filter changes, an Eaton 4623 typically lasts 150,000-250,000 operating cycles — roughly 3-5 years of moderate-duty use on a tipper, or a comparable multi-year lifespan on a tractor or forklift under normal conditions. Contaminated oil and infrequent filter changes are the two fastest ways to shorten gear pump life, regardless of which machine it's fitted to.
